If there is one message I get more than any other, it is some version of: "what size should I order?" So I wanted to put everything I tell customers one-on-one into a single place, in plain language, no guesswork required.
How Amali sizing works
Every Amali style runs across six size bands, from XS-S through to 2XL-3XL. You will find the size chart on every product page, and a full breakdown on our FAQ page. As a general rule, our pieces are true to size, but because swimwear fit is personal, here is the guidance I give every customer who asks:
- Size up if you want more coverage, or a more relaxed, easy feel.
- Size down if you want a firmer, more supportive hold.
That one rule solves most sizing questions on its own. The rest comes down to the details below.
What if I'm between two sizes?
This is the question. And honestly, most people are between two sizes at some point, because bikini sizing rarely maps neatly onto your everyday clothing size. My advice is always the same: think about how you want the piece to feel more than what the tag says.
If you are deciding between, say, a S-M and an M-L, ask yourself whether you would rather have a closer, more supportive fit (size down) or a little more room and coverage (size up). Both are completely valid choices, and neither one is "more correct" than the other. Our tie-side styles, like the Marie Bottom and Bloom Bottom, give you extra room to fine-tune once you have made that call, since the ties let you adjust the fit yourself.
There is no wrong answer between two sizes. There is only the fit that feels like you.
Buying a set? Your top and bottom don't have to match
This is the one thing I wish more people knew before they order: your bust and your hip almost never need the exact same size, and you are not locked into picking one. Every set on our Sets collection lets you choose your top size and your bottom size independently at checkout. So if you run a size up on top and a size down on the bottom (or the other way around), that is exactly what you should order. You do not need to compromise on either piece.
