A few years ago swimwear and activewear were designed by completely different rules. Activewear was built for performance. Swimwear was built to look good in photos. I've never understood why those had to be different things, and more women seem to agree with me every season.
What changed
Women aren't structuring their days around outfit changes anymore. Pilates, then the ocean, then errands, then dinner, all in one morning. Nobody has time to pack four outfits for that, and nobody should have to.
That's the gap Amali was built for. Reversible, double lined, tested in the water and on a Pilates reformer before it ever gets sold, because that's genuinely how I test every design myself.
If a bikini can be your outfit, then swim becomes possible at any given moment. That's the whole shift.
Where I think this goes
I don't think swimwear replaces every piece of activewear you own. But for the days that move between training, the water, and everything after, I think it should be able to. That's the standard I hold every Amali piece to before it launches.
See what that looks like in the Ozoux collection, the one built specifically around this idea.
